  • May Member Meeting – 05/12/2016

    Presentation slides from the meeting.

This month’s main presentation will be done by our V.P. Matt Youngblut. The topic is partigyle brewing (two beers from one mash) based on a Belgian Dubbel with the second beer being a Single or Patersbier.  This should be a great presentation for those thrifty brewers out there!

Social hour starts at 7 PM with meeting business starting at 7:30.

Bring a glass and bring some beer to share. If you have a beer you’d like some feedback on, by all means bring those for the feedback table.

Also, we’ll have the new BAM hoodies available for purchase. We can take cash, check or credit card.

    See you next Thursday!

  • Style of the Quarter – Q1 2016

The results are in for our next SOQ, and the Stout category came away with a resounding victory!  Here are the details:
    • Like last year, we will be combining the Q1 SOQ with World Cup – enter your beers into World Cup as normal, and be sure to note BAM as your club on the registration
      • No reimbursements this year – but trust me, the high quality feedback alone will be worth your entry fee, and you’ll have the chance to win it back with our SOQ awards!
    • We’ll define ‘Stouts’ as anything in either Categories 14 or 15 in the new, 2016 BJCP Style Guidelines.  This includes quite a few options:
      • Irish Stout
      • Irish Extra Stout
      • Sweet Stout
      • Oatmeal Stout
      • Tropical Stout
      • Foreign Extra Stout
      • American Stout
      • Imperial Stout
    • Top 3 highest scoring beers in any of these categories will be awarded the standard SOQ Oak Barrel gift card prizes (50/30/20)

  • BAM Holiday Party: Saturday, December 12th at 2pm

Hey BAMers! It’s that wonderful time of year when we homebrewers get together and spread holiday cheer by sharing tasty libations with each other. Please take note that this will take the place of the normal Thursday meeting for December.

Claudia asks that we park on the side of the building as to not disturb their regular Saturday tasting room business. Parking Map.

The holiday party is typically a potluck, so please bring a dish and beverages to share with everyone. We have the BAM picnic supplies, so we’ll be set for plates, plasticware, etc.

As a reminder – SOQ beers will be judged by popular vote at the BAM Holiday party.

We hope to see everyone there!
